Bodie

Seems like a nice town out here in the hills east of Bridgeport, CA.  But it's actually Bodie State Historical Park which is now a Ghost Town!

Bodie reached it's population and economic apex around 1880, home to 7,000 residents.

Gold mines operated here until 1942 but it was a ghost town by 1915.

"Main Street"

I like the shapes the buildings take when they start to sag.

Onions provided for some scale!

Looking back down into town from the mill

Yeah, I had to pose for this photo!

The one town church and the cemetery on the hillside in the distance.
