O Fest -- Six Months

Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015.  This picture is the perfect encapsulation at my family's understanding that I am useless around the house.  My job was to simply stay out of the way and hold the nuts and bolts.

Christmas Eve dinner!

Christmas Day Presents were opened on Oliver's schedule.  We were up late, ate breakfast and then Oliver had a nap.  Then we had lunch so Onions and I went for a walk around Green Lake.  Presents opened at 330PM!

Grandma and Grandpa!

Onions and his FIRST ever Christmas present.

Christmas Dinner...prime rib!  Thanks for always cooking Mom and Marl!

Whidbey Island

The Tuesday before Christmas, we (including Carlos) decided we wanted and adventure.  Neither Carlos and I had ever been to Whidbey Island (turns out the second largest oceanic island in the lower 48) so we were off.  First stop, Langley.

Coffee, Pastries and good conversation!  And for those reading, this is the commencement of the crazy event that culminated on New Years Eve.

The view from Fort Casey, the Olympics are peeking through.

Fort Casey is one of the three forts that protect the entrance into Puget Sound.  It was most active around World War I.

It's a fun place to visit because visitors can climb all over the bunkers.

The last two of these "hiding guns" (brought over from the Philippines) are here on display at Fort Casey.

Here is the other one in the "hidden" position

Driving north we crossed over Deception Pass.

Looking out into the sound and Deception Island.

Onions First Football Game

December 19th...Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks.  Onions and I are going to the game!!!

I've gone up to the local bar to watch the Seahawks regularly, but Onions never joined me.  Here he is pre-gaming at lunch reading the rules of the game!

Century Link Field!  Note Onions is wearing his orange puffy jacket.

As we walked in, he noticed that he was wearing the colors (Orange) of the Browns.  He was pissed that I didn't tell him (I never thought about it, honestly), so he took my green jacket and wore it throughout the game.

HAWKS!!

JOHNNY FOOTBALL!  I kind of love, actually not just kind of, him.  He's just such a "bro" that it's fun to watch him make a mess of his life.  I also notice that he kind of throws the ball sidearm.

Doug Baldwin! Go Math!

Hawks win and clinched a spot in the playoffs
