Wild Willy's

At the end of our first day of camping, we went to find Wild Willy's Hot Spring, which I had read about.  It's on the valley floor just south of Mammoth Mountain ski area.

Off a dirt road, there's a parking lot and a boardwalk that you take to the end and see......

....this.  There is one big pool at the end.  On the right is the small creek that feeds the pool and there is a smaller pool to the left out of the picture.

The large pool is full of people, and Onions and I monopolized this smaller pool.

The ever resourceful Onions then found the location where the hot water comes out of the ground.

He then created his own little personal pool with the hottest water we could find.

The scenery looking to the East.

To the West, the mountains of the Eastern Sierra Nevada.

And then....the fantastic light show that was the sunset over the Sierra.

Clean, happy and ready to mug for the camera.
