Camping and Mono Lake

Onions had three days off and Tioga Pass just opened, so we decided to go camping!

Looking down from Tioga Pass

At the bottom of Highway 120, is Mono Lake.  It's a lake with no outlet.

However, the Los Angeles Water District takes waters from the tributaries that feed Mono Lake and so the lake level has dropped and revealed these tufa.

We camped near June Lake about 10 miles south of Mono Lake.  This is Silver Lake.

June Lake

This is as far as Onions got.

However, I did go in for a dip!

The view from our campsite at Oh! Ridge

Onions second time camping, but he's totally got systems set up.  In one trip, he's thought out everything.

The quality of food is high.  We had crab one night.  Breakfast is eggs and tomato.

Braised beef!

Sunshade on the left, with chairs.  Tent and behind me, a hammock.

Onions has a cot!  I'm on the pad on the ground.
