Post Christmas 2019

After Legoland Onions and I served as drivers and escorted Mom, Marlene and O up to San Marino to hang with Aunt Ming.  O got to visit with his second cousins Lucy and Colin!

Apparently, these were our Christmas gifts?  As usual, I wasn't paying much attention.

Guilty!!  That is definitely looking at my phone position.

O hanging with Uncle Shao

Family trip to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles

Onions always makes me pose

We watched a 3-D movie......I don't remember what it was about because I fell asleep.

There was a really cool exhibition on arctic/cold weather research.  Here, it started with a simulated air transport ride.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was right next door as part of the Exhibition Park Complex.  I had no idea.  I've seen these arches so many times on television and here it was.
USC is right across the street from Exhibition Park.  What was interesting is that for decades I believed what was told me was that USC was in a bad part of LA, which it clearly isn't.

Onions and I didn't stay with Aunt Ming and Uncle Shao and took one day off from hanging with the family.  However, after visiting the museum, Onions and I took a drive into the mountains north of Pasadena.  This is a view from about 45 minutes drive from downtown Pasadena!

The view back down into the Los Angeles!

We brought some snow back for the kids to play with!

Not my photo, but O, Marlene and Mom flew back on the New Years Eve.

After dropping them off at the airport, we walked up from Evelyn and Mark's house up to Colorado Blvd to see the set up of the Rose Parade!

New Year's Day!  Mark and Evelyn live so close (two blocks) from the parade that we watched a couple of the early floats pass by the beginning of the parade on television and then were able to see the same floats in person an hour later!

It wasn't crowded at all, as we were about 3/4 of the way down the parade route.  Oh, and the floats were pretty spectacular.

Having watched the entire parade, the marching bands are the best.  Sometimes, they just make you get up and want to stomp your feet!  The parades can definitely get rid of the horses riding by.  They really add nothing to the experience for me.

After the parade, we met up with our friend Jeff for Korean BBQ in Koreatown.  After that, it was in the car and the six hour drive back up to SF to start the 2020 year.
