Denali Highway

I purposely left the last three days of the trip unplanned and so Onions and I decided to head back down to the coast. To get there we drove the Denali Highway.
There are two main North-South roads in Alaska, the older original Richardson Highway (Valdez to the North) and the Parks Highway (Anchorage to Fairbanks).  The 135 mile mostly unpaved Denali Highway links the two.

Onions Drove the Denali Highway!

The pictures of the drive are from West to East.  The weather, although not rainy, was overcast.  And so we only saw the bottom halves of he distant mountains of the Alaska Range.

Loved my trip up there. We even drove north along the pipeline to get above the arctic circle. The whole place is unreal.
