| Moscow Station in St. Petersburg. We are crossing Russia in four segments. The first is an 8-hour overnight express train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. |

| Riding the train in Russia is a REGAL experience. Each car has an attendant, who welcomes you on board. Plus the music in the station was so uplifting. It wasn't the Russian Anthem (which I love) but in that same vein that I wanted to stand up and salute and march with my chest out. |

| Traveling 2nd class, there are four berths in a "kupe". The odd numbered berths are the lower ones. Storage is under the seat. |

| The back of the bench folds down to be the bed of for the lower bunks. We had the entire "kupe" to ourselves for this section of the journey. |

| Each train car has a "samovar" which provides hot water at all times. |
