Visitors and The Conservatory of Flowers

I received a voicemail yesterday from a friend of mine from a summer program I attended in 1986. She is always so good about making time to catch up when she is out here and for that she is to be commended. Deborah G.,her husband and 14 month old son were out for a visit to her brother. We agreed to meet his afternoon at the Conservatory of Flowers, located in Golden Gate Park.

I'm not a big plants fan, but I did find reading the history of the building to be fascinating. Fires, earthquakes and lack of funds had allowed the Conservatory to be placed on the World Momuments Fund as 100 structures that were in danger of being lost. In 2003, the renovated Conservatory reopened as seen in the picture above.

The special exhibit for Spring and Summer is one on Butterfly's. I've taken some pictures of butterflies for you to see for yourself

Here are some pictures of all of us on a glorious Saturday afternoon in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
