All readers of the blog know I have an obsession with the NPR show Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. I've seen it taped twice, in Chicago when I spent the summer of 2004 all across the country and last February when the show was taped in Berkeley. And don't get me started on my devotion to host Peter Sagel. But during this weeks "Listener Limerick Challenge", the three panelists were over the top in mocking the name of the prominent San Francisco high school Lick-Wilmerding. The fact that it aired nationwide made the moment that much better, at least for a teacher at a rival school. It was TRULY priceless.
I'm not sure exactly how to provide a direct link to the broadcast, but here's the best I can do. I urge, implore, BEG you to go to the the page for this weeks broadcast and click on the link for the Listener Limerick Challenge. You are listening for the introduction of the caller. There is no need to actually listen to the limerick afterwards. TRUST ME, it's hilarious.
