Summer 2015 East Coast -- Vermont

Onions' second trip to the United States and so I decided to take him to the East Coast to see the big cities and to meet many of the important people in my life.  We landed in Boston and, on the way to Vermont, stopped by the home offices of SYA.  My first visit....after I've ended working for them.

The big boss not in, I'm going to sit at his desk and in his chair!

For six years, I've had a secret crush on the bookkeeper/accountant/treasurer of SYA.  I've FINALLY met Maureen.

Yes, the office was, on the day we visited, ALL women.  Was fun to stop in and meet all the people I've only known through email.

Next stop, was a two and a half day visit to Anne S. at her home in Vershire, VT.  It's been six years since I've visited.  The house is the same and she is as wonderful as ever.

Of all the visits, she was the one who was most interested in Onions and asked the most questions directly to him.  We had a wonderful visit, although it was a bit sad to see that age, as it does for everyone, is taking its toll.

The view from Anne's house looking east into the mountains of New Hampshire.

Bunsby!

We took a trip up to Waterbury to tour Ben and Jerry's

We spent most afternoons, when the sun was out, hiking the hills of Vermont.  And we also took an afternoon drive down to The Putney School, where Onions impressed them by knowing the history of one of the descendents of the founders of the school.

Our last evening was spent eating a wonderful dinner in the picture perfect town of Strafford, VT.

Dinner at Stone Soup

Part of the dinner experience is a walk in the garden.

Vermont and a visit with Anne....exactly what you would expect in Vermont and when reconnecting with a beloved mentor and teacher.
