Leaving Vermont, next stop was an afternoon visiting Catherine V-S. We had lunch and a nice afternoon walk feeding birds and observing frogs. |
Onions and George S. (Cath and Joe's youngest) hanging in the backyard. |
Onions experienced a classic American 4th of July at the beach as we were guests of Frank T and his family, most importantly his parents. |
So when you go to the beach, you always find the nicest house and dream that you are friends with the owners, well, this time, it happened! This is Frank's parents house on the beach in Hull, MA. |
There wasn't even a road between the house and beach. Just go out and head right to the sand. |
When darkness came, the beach was full of people setting off fireworks. Free show right all around us. |
Most of the afternoon was spent hanging out at the beach...doing beach stuff. |
And of COURSE there was the food. Piles and piles of food. It lasted the entire afternoon. |
Don't forget dessert. Thanks much to Frank and his parents for a great 4th of July. |
Our 4th was bracketed by nights at Jeff's in Somerville. |
Jeff's girlfriend Claire. |
The highlight of our stay was a fantastic lobster feast with Jeff, Claire and a couple of Jeff's friends. |
Before departing Boston, we got to meet up with one of my former SYA students, Lydia. She's one of the students that Onions knew well and it was fun to catch up. |
