Moscow Station in St. Petersburg. We are crossing Russia in four segments. The first is an 8-hour overnight express train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. |
Our ticket! Basically, all I needed was to find our train number, our seat/bed number and my name. |
System Map (partial I'm guessing) of the Russian train system. |
We took #3 leaving at 23:59 |
Moscow -- St. Petersburg |
DD getting set up in the "kupe" |
Traveling 2nd class, there are four berths in a "kupe". The odd numbered berths are the lower ones. Storage is under the seat. |
The back of the bench folds down to be the bed of for the lower bunks. We had the entire "kupe" to ourselves for this section of the journey. |
Each train car has a "samovar" which provides hot water at all times. |
Sleepy head catching a few extra winks as we pull into Leningrad Station in Moscow. |
