Legno Restauro

Students at SYA Italy are required to fulfill a physical activity requirement, a service requirement and a cultural activity requirement. I'm tagging along with some of the students who are taking a class in wood restoration. Thursday afternoon's we meet at the shop of a Viterbesi wood restoration specialist and help him with his work. We're paying for the honor, but it's fun anyway. The other students mock us for the fact that we're paying to help a guy restore other people's furniture, but they're not having the fun that we are.

Varnishing!

Roberto, the owner always puts me on special projects. Not sure if he doesn't trust me with the other stuff or gives me the harder stuff.

Alessandro, his assistant speaks better English and translates for us. All you single women, he's on the hunt for a girlfriend! I'll pass on your info if you want.

I finished these drawers last week. It required two hours of going in small circles with a rag, but there it is.

Not Roberto's father, but his grandfather, who is 86. Roberto is 50, so we asked and Roberto's father is 67. Roberto waited until he was 45 to have his first child. Roberto's grandfather came by to fix a lock and we found out he wants to move to Atlanta, GA because his friend works for Delta Airlines. You find out random things even if you don't speak the same language.

Alessandro, myself and the kids are going out to dinner after class next week. This isn't the greatest of shots, however.
